There is a full description on the downlaod link. But to sumarize.

Authors Letter
This is my way of saying good bye and thanks to portal, and to ensure people playing it will never forget portal. It is my best work to date, and I am proud of it. 3 months of work, with 2 years of knowlegde. Please Enjoy!

Gameplay
Red are already inside Aperture Science, they spawn near GLaDOS room. They try to gain and hold the control point for 3 minutes. Blue spawn outside, in a helicopter area and they also try to gain control.
The design of the map is not symmetrical, kind of. It is designed so players tend to flow in one direction, like a spiral. It is possible to rocket or triple jump and travel against the flow. This flow will make players keep an eye behind them, and also a good area to defend.
The map also contains 2 strategic points. If you simply walk over the “console” the light will turn green, enabling players through, either by a stairway or by removing fizzlers. These are not critical to winning the game, but do provide an advantage regarding flow of players.
Fizzlers block players, but allow players to see and shoot through. (Bullets travel to fast, so they hit even if they are being emancipated, I think)
There 3 static pair of portals, one per test chamber. You can portal through this, but these stay fixed. Only players can travel through, not bullets or grenades or physics objects.

Features
-A spiral design, so map flows in one direction. Keep an eye for your back!
-It’s a portal themed map for TF2!
-HDR! It looks beautiful!
-Original Particles!
-Original Textures!
-Original Models!
-Custom Textures!
-A deteailed world!
-Strategic points.
-Observe from observation rooms while you are waiting for respawn
-Valve’s default settings for Koth maps.
-A High quality map!
-Did I mention that it’s a portal themed map! For TF2!

Update 19/March/2011
-Fixed acid's particles, it now acts like water, still looks like acid
-Changed distance needed for blue to travel to CP
-Added some signs about the battlement
-Changed Blue's BTS secret area to be shorter and to allow travel in 2 directions.
-Changed Secret BTS doors, it has portal's door
-Secret BTS doors now close or open depending on the hill's owner. Note, only one will close so players do not get stucked inside.
-Added custom signs to the place where health and ammo kits lay.
-Changed name to Koth_Aperture_Science_IIIa

Old Update
-Fixed the missing particle's materials. Map is now as it should be!

I hope you guys like this map as much as I do. Unfortunately it is not compatible with bots, because they are idiots when it comes to moving. I would appreciate your support, as my dream is to be publish by Valve, and with the donations I would get a better pc to make better bigger maps, I am kind of stucked on a laptop right now.

This looks awesome, especially the helicopter. I haven't played it yet but I'm praying GLaDOS speaks ingame!

Unfortunately, use of portal textures essentially means that people who haven't paid for portal use the assets for free... Legally, I'm not sure about the problems with this.

i like your map but people gonna kill you for use of non tf2 texture... but my opinion ... good work.

Now the difference between this and yours quake is that THIS is portal themed, thus portal textures are a must. With your map, it was (as you put it) TF2 themed. You also used non-valve game textures.

This also looks a lot better. And fun.

@Bermuda, I think that when Portal went online for free, that legal mumbo-jumbo went out the door. :p

Unfortunately GLaDOS doesnt speak in game, there are some portal/halflife 2 sounds (They are stolen from half life first, so that was neat, as it is already included). Anyways, I thought that people would be shooting all the time and talking nonsense, they wouldn't notice.

If it was a portal map, I would, and Ive done. Contact me for link to the portal in portal map.

Thansk for the comments guys

I'm assuming you paked all the assets in with the map...

Also, the HDR looks kind of extreme in some of the screenshots, like the one with the CP; even if everything is HDR, the lighting still shouldn't be that dim (especially for the people that will look at it in LDR).

I can't really tell how it plays, but the detailing looks great!

I just got done running the map and it has quite a few texture errors. Something you should keep in mind it to remember to release it with the custom textures. It doesn't seem bad from what I've seen so far, but you really wouldn't want to allow the errors to show.

Can you show me what errors? If you mean pink and purple stuff, please let me know where, so I can fix it as soon as possible

My issue, looking at screens, is the juxtoposition of Portal's gameplay aesthetics to TF2's.

For example, having played Portal it's REALLY going to bother me that those weighted cubes likely don't fall over or move when I touches them (and if they do, that's a big no-no. Dynamic physics in TF2 is a bad idea.) I suggest a different solution for walls like that and only using cubes in detail areas.

This map was broken for me and the other person I showed it to. The particles or textures were missing/broken so that some rooms had what looked like purple lasers flickering through them, the "fizzlers" had purple particles speckling them and the portals had purple rings around them. Maybe I just installed it incorrectly on my server, but it was hard to even look around because of that issue. Interesting concept though, even if it might not fit that well thematically into TF2. I also rather liked the energy ball that worked as an environmental hazard on the point, made me smile a little.

I will look into the erros I am confused, as some screenshots show missing errors in some places and then not showing in other places, very inconsistent.

From what I have observed, is that pack BSP failed to attached the particle's textures

EDIT! LOoKING FOR A TEST SUBJECT! so that they can inform me before I release an update if it is working properly. My steam ID is on top of this post, so just add me and let me know you want to help me test it!

What if you temporarily delete all the map files you have for this map on your computer and then look at it fresh from the download you have? Or use another computer or something. I would think that would allow you to see the texture errors because I'm guessing they work for you since you already have the particles on your computer but the bsp is missing them for whatever reason.
