Day One
I'm feeling lazy as shit. I woke up and dreaded my commitment already. I wasn't sure if I should put pants on or not for this. Screw it, boxers are fine. Maybe the extra weight off my back will make this easier.
I did my normal 10 minute stretching routine. Damnit, I'm still tense and stringy. Okay, now for the arms.
Rep 1: 10 Ugh, my arms are still a little sore from yesterday.
Rep 2: 10 Ohhh shit 9 and 10 were a struggle. My breath is actually short.
Rep 3: 7 Okay every one of those 7 was a bitch. I don't think I was waiting the full 60 seconds between reps. I'm going to wait until I catch my breath.
Rep 4: 7 Holy mother of fuck. That last one my arms just didn't want to do. I like paused half way up and just sort of trembled. I made it, but I don't know if it was "good form"
For those who are interested, I decided to do this program after reading
The Four Hour Body. The book is written from the perspective of a guy who wants to hack his body. He has a ton of funny anecdotes and a lot of interesting views on fitness in general. The principles of his I'm using are 1) Make a small change 2) Take measurements and keep records 3) Make a commitment with other people. It is a fun read and I would recommend it to anyone.
Here's my favorite quote from this thread today
i just do pushup each day incrasing amount until i get 100.
Quakeman you're a zen poet, your stanzas will keep me going man!
See you nerds friday! (Edit: Make that Saturday! My wife interrupted scheduled push-up time with a project. I had to build a light box so she could start our garden seedlings. This summer is going to be awesome, we are gonna have fresh veggies out the asshole. Anyone want to swing buy and eat asshole lettuce with me?)
