It's science related stuff.
I had a lot of quality-thinking-pleasure while watching this video and I feel like sharing it, unless you guys already had seen it.
Well, I've got no idea how to shortly describe it but watching just a minute should be enough.

Enjoy.
Looking forward to comments

I really wanted to watch it and did try..

But the way the guy talks REALLY bothers me.

The fact the text goes as he talks bothers me more.

I turned it off after about 5 minutes of frustration.

Reading the comments, it sounds it's like 49 minutes of bullshit.

It is so monotone and inhuman, like it was done by Ben Stein's robot counterpart. I couldn't last through the opening.

Reading the comments, it sounds it's like 49 minutes of bullshit.

he probably means that the guy disabled the comments because he new it would be criticized by everyone

I lasted 20 minutes, but I had the exact same feeling through the video.
It felt more like a cult video trying to sell me their message than a scientific documentary.

I really have no opinion on the content, but the presentation of it was terrible.

Ignoring the guys accent...

What he discusses at the end of chapter 2 part 1 could be easily misinterpreted as such (a theory of life rather than a scientific documentary). I understand a lot of what is being defined here but then i have studied in physics and sociology. When you get the masses of internet dweebs from places like reddit who react based on their half baked knowledge; well lets just say that's exactly what this video is commenting on. Perception, influence, defensive mechanisms, society (at least the first chapter).

I can quote a phrase from 41:20, "our concept of it is nothing more than our perception of the change in observable values". We don't understand everything and we consciously or unconsciously become frustrated when we can't make heads or tails of it, and make reactions based on emotions and make conclusions that aren't always correct: Based only on the knowledge and understanding we possess at the time.

Some individuals are further up that ladder than others (through brain training or otherwise) and understanding our behaviour allows us to see past our ignorances and grow more as an entity, mastering our limited capacities, increasing that capacity. Simply by beeing self aware. (I have plenty of friends who are impulsive and frustrated about their lack of understanding of things around them IE other people, and what is discussed about denial makes perfect sense).

I've seen this in action many times so i can relate, and is yet another point of the video. Everything we do and think is based in relations and current understandings. If you cannot relate to this you will find it harder to digest. I feel that i understand the majority of what is being said after a single view, but then this is basically just a summary of someone elses research and for some people it can't be dumbed down enough, so they misinterpret it for something else.

The only thing that bothers me is his analogy of c, light, as a point of perception. But it helps the understanding of special relativity i guess.

TL;DR

It's confusing because it discusses 2 concepts simultaniously. It's 30 minutes of discussing perception in order to break/introduce a concept of time, distance and relativity. Then re-introduces the concept of the individual being affected by time through memory, perception of memory, and our lack of understanding about how we are as opposed to how we view ourselves as self aware entities.

Most people aren't getting that, though, and are taking it for something else; and raging over it.

The guy narrating is Danish or something... that's quite a hell away from english accent indeed
- to me it was fine as I am not a native either

@grazr
The video is sort of messy, but it's a nice thing that they try to deliver a rather difficult knowledge to the internet audience.
I just enjoyed it on simple basis, otherwise I'd probably never get to take a look at the topic at all.

I thought the video was fine, but as i said, I understand many of the concepts being discussed, so if there are holes i may be filling in the blanks myself, when other people cannot.

For the plain fact that the comments are disabled on youtube means the presenter of this information has reason to protect this information from open discussion, although we're talking about the youtube trolls. If it's not open for legitimate discussion, I can't say the presenter doesn't have anything to hide, and that makes me very suspicious.

EDIT: After watching it (yes I watched it all), I realize it's a flashy and visually impressive of promoting/demonstrating another theory of how the universe is supposed to work.

The fact that it is on the internet is proof enough that it is open for legitimate discussion, let alone there being a reddit page about it.

It certainly is not filled with bullshit, and its very interesting. The really fascinating part of it is the usage of vectors to describe the flow of time being essentially backwards relating to the C_now.

The second half is where it's at. But then again, if you don't understand modern physics already (At a university level I'd say), then it could be complex.

Perhaps, the most striking part of the first part for me would be the idea behind the brain having no internality nor externality.

Either way, thanks for sharing it!

If anybody's further interested there's a recorded livestream from the author himself (not the video maker guy)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr4lHAzzWuI

anyway, he mentions the comments "issue" and answers other questions
basically he had seen youtubers negative comments appear just 10 minutes after video gone live, while it is 50 minutes long

This hasn't been peer reviewed either, so for the moment, it's just another crazy theory.
