Hammer on ATI cards

Hideous

So, is anyone else running Hammer on an ATI card? I've noticed lots of annoyances that never existed on my older nvidia-based computer.

For example, most of the hotkeys don't work on the first press. I have to push them several times, hoping that it'll work. That includes saving. Ctrl+M doesn't work at all.

Anyone else having these issues? Did you manage to solve it?

Steam + ATI = Best Friends.
Some ATI cards come with coupons for steam games.

On my laptop, I had an ATI Radeon HD 3200, Which could run Hammer for CSS fine with no issues.

Maybe try updating your drivers.

I get the hotkeys problem all the time. It didn't use to happen. It's REALLY annoying. You have to hold ctrl and just keep hammering the letter until it registers.

It's certain ati-cards that have this issue. Mainly 4000 series. In that, you really have to hit ctrl+c for example, multiple times to make it copy something. Also the numbers are all messed up. These can be fixed with Ati-tools but it's troublesome to switch back and forth all the time. I've gotten used to the situation aka bad numbers.

This problem exists ONLY on hammer versions for games CSS, TF2 and such, Left 4 Dead 1 / 2 are unaffected. Only thing Valve needs to do is update dx file. This was stated on steampowered forums around 2 years ago by Valve employee but nothing was done. I'd search the post but search is disabled and steampowered forums are so slow now.

I have a motherboard-integrated X1270 on my laptop ... it does have some of the nuisances you mentioned, but I've always just thought it was because my laptop's not exceptionally strong as a gaming machine. (It actually runs these things better than I would have expected...)

Works better for me on an ATI card than an NVidia card with similar specs. Sounds like a problem singular to you, OP.
