[WIP] dm_rocketarena

You guessed by the name, another gimmick map. A friend of mine came to me with a request for a map in which he could practise with his clan to improve their aim while having fun, so i put this together and would like to get you guys to comment as this is my second map.

The map is designed for demoman and soldier play but can be played by any class. Its been tested and tweaked by a few of my friends but its never had more than 4 players at any one time, so i dont know how ballanced or hectic it will be with more.

All classes can be easily countered by each team but problems may occur if a team all stacks Heavy.

Respawn time should be 1 to 2 seconds after death for best gameplay.

Im almost done with the build and im down to small edits on the map and changes of any errors found. If you have any ideas that may help with the type of gameplay the map was designed for (soldier/demoman) then please feel free to offer them here.

Hehe nice, you must have thought too "fuck it, I'm making a dm_ map cos all my friends play dm_ for some reason, I might aswell provide a good looking one"

Just some crits: you overused those props a bit, its too full now, and your 3D skybox needs work, not even sure if it has one.

Hmm seems like i didnt complete the post and cant find an edit button. I was ment to say that problems might crop up if a team stacked Heavy.

*Edit, turns out i wasnt logged in*

I dont know how to do a 3D skybox yet so i will have to read some tutorials and maybe get one on my next map if i ever make one. The current sky is just the skybox texture on a brush.

Yes but 3D skybox is something else, read a tut, it's really easy:thumbup1:

if everything outside the square deathmatch area is full sized props instead of a skybox then thats a pretty large waste of resources. I know for a fact that valve has skybox prop versions of every prop you put surrounding the square. Skybox basics are really easy too.

If you actually made it circular.. you could argue it's technically not a box map ;) but it's still just a pretty box map.. try figuring out some entities. The rewards are well worth it, since it looks like to can do displacements and work props fine. Sink your teeth into some solid architexture.
