Are Waves Possible?

Pretty much the title; I'm drawing up the layout for a beachfront CP map that I want to make at some point, and I'm just wondering if it's possible/practical to make waves, or if I'll have to just leave it as a "stagnant ocean," so to speak.

Any information would be much appreciated.

You can't make the actual water curve and wave.
I've seen people use material proxies and in some cases models to simulate waves, all to varying degrees of success... It's one of those things you're never gonna get perfect with the source engine.

But with enough time, you can probably make something that looks okay.

Spikes jungle pack has a wave model with it, not sure how good it looks though it might be worth a try.
