For I am the legendary roflmuffin, who is not known for anything.

So a while back I decided to try my luck with map design, after dabbling in CSS map development, I wanted to see how hard TF2 mapping was.... WOW! I realised it was a truckload of hard, because of balancing issues as well as the immense amount of styling and trim required.

So, I am here to say: Hello and where do I start? I was considering a deathmatch map first and then move onto some heavier CP or Arena. What do you guys reckon?

Sincerely, the tastiest and funniest muffin around

Hi and welcome to tf2maps.net.

If you're just starting out in mapping for tf2, it's probably best to build something simple such as a koth or arena. Death matches don't work all that well in TF2, don't know why, but they don't so probably steer clear of them.

Anyway, welcome and I hope you find all the help you need in regards to mapping here.

Everytime I write down a design on paper, all I ever think of is valve maps, then it ends up looking exactly like theirs :O
