You can resize things images, you know.

Start TF2. Build things against a background that'll be easy to trace against. Take some screenshots. Trace, resize.

Also isn't there a font or something with vector silhouettes of all the weapons, that they use for the kill notices?

Or use HLMV. It's faster and you can get higher-res pictures than those from the Wiki and it's faster than making/compiling/running a map.

HLMV always gives me lots of non-antialiased jaggies and an annoying semitransparent "fiery" environment map.

Make sure to antialias those edges of the images, it looks kinda bad atm.

Also, never use the TF2 fonts inside TF2, seeing as its artistic direction has developed into this oxymoronical situation. Stick to fonts from the 60's.

Here's a good reference (if you manage to sift through all the hippy stylized stuff :p)
