It won't make that brush a displacement :( needs to be a square right? gonna be tricky making it look acceptable.

Well it needs 4 sides. You could clip one of the corners and make a small edge that matched up with the other side.

Similar idea to one of mine :p

I could do with some skybox versions of the track (which I could probably do myself) but I've managed to make a nice circle out of the small skybox peices.

Trying to get back into mapping (again) in between the metric fuckton of projects I have to work on. Currently doing a revamp and rename of Quarry after I had a brainwave forever ago. Figured I'd post something here.

Working on a way to visually seal off the map that makes more sense than spilled coal that you could probably step over.

No idea what's going on with the ceiling here. Also I fail at deciding on ceiling textures.

First point, now with displacements. I probably went overboard with all the rocks, but they're disguising the fact that it's just a bunch of squares and angles that I've rounded off slightly.

Off topic: How do you make images thumbnail? :blushing:

You may want to lighten the rocks, but that looks good. I like the look of that point.

As for thumbnails, images automatically resize to what users set in the User CP, so don't worry about it. If someone wants small images, they can get em.

Using the swamp theme pack, watersource, and the HL2: EP2 dynamic water particle, i'll make pretty good map with some decent water physics and textures. It's probaly going to be a underwater base that is leaking and the BLU team is trying to salvage any point they can before the whole place is filled up, but RED team is trying to stop the BLU team from getting to the life sub.

EDIT: Hammer apparently doesen't like when i try to carve water, I need to think of a way to make it look like it's under water without carving it.

I should still have a really good tutorial on this at home on the desktop(favorited, I think). Unfortunately, I am not at home right now. Ill come back and link you as soon as Im done with work today - though it will be quite a few more hours. I tried to find it by googling but couldnt come up with it so far :(

looks like the point might need a tad more cover, but the surrounding area is unfinished so can't really tell.

Also,
Question: what is the best way to make a mountain that is walk-up-able and looks smooth? like a volcano.
