im probably going to keep the map name the same,
the directional indicators, work.... sometimes, so they will go in the next version.
and i will be re-encoding when i get a chance (been busy)
but i hope to have it done soon (2-3 weeks)

also i will be looking at placement of more medpacks

Ah. That's cool.

Just be sure to keep us updated; this is a really cool map, and I'd love to see it finished.

It appears i have solved the texture problem
it was a slash in the texture file path.
before the were:
/woodtextures/blahblahblah.*

now they are
woodtextures/blahblahblah.*

SOOOOOO stupid

anywho

ill be looking at the medic packs tmro and doing an encode shortly there after
and i hope to have it up by this weekend

Are the wood textures custom, or are they from Valve?

They look a little...unnatural. I can't put my finger on it; the wood looks too red, I guess. It should look more like the Sawmill textures.

That's just me, but I think it would make the map more visually appealing.

Definitely custom, and making the struts go the proper direction would go miles towards making it more believable... or even just a trim, actually, which'd be way easier. Add a trim (with another texture, or use yours for the trim, either way) and it'll make the platforms look way better.

yes they are custom, and based on the same color pallet as the tree trunks, (pulled from the tf2 pallet)

keep in mind, that i can not add many brushes to this map, as it is just about maxed on the planes (87.8% full)
It is maxed on displacements, i think i have 3 left (yes the tree trunks are 12 displacements each displacements)
and overly complex (hence the signs)

but for the plank textures:
were you thinking something allong this line?
(The original style is in the middle)
oh, and for a little scale, the pic on the far right is all (i think) of the railings in the map, with everything else removed, (railings are placed on overhangs which will cause serious harm to the person foolish enough to jump over them)

Sort of like that, yes, but it makes more sense on straight pathways. I do think that looks better though, but of course it's your decision.

Don't bother if you don't want to. It's your map. It's what I would do though. I think little things matter.

Though yeah, you should definitely consider using the wood textures from Sawmill for the tree trunks; it would make them look much more natural. As of now they seem a little too artificial.

b4 of treehouse will be out today or tomorrow
i redid the trunk texture, less red, more brown/grey, same pattern
planks are now not aligned in one big swath,

and a few other little things.

update coming "soon"

and by soon i mean now

it is also availabe to play on the blackcompany server
