- Get rid of these vents
- Put anti-aliasing when you take your screenshots
- Align your textures, specially on your buildings
- Vary more your choice of texture on your buildings
- Get rid of these cumbersome objects in the surface of game
- The rocks can't cross your wire nettings
- Add more details on your buildings

Here what i can see from your screenshots :)

shouldn't really be so offended at feedback. 1st map = not gonna be perfect. this looks good for a first map compared to most first maps. main thing is that those vents just look awful. they are placed in the most random places, and don't really make sense.

coming from the guy that made vent-a-duct though. :D

also their really isn't any info on the gametype. hell, i dont even see any capture points.

I'm not sure what you wanted if not constructive criticism? Why did you post this thread?

good. go to fpsbanana and take that bad attitude with you. if your willing to listen to feedback, not necessarily change your entire map to it, go ahead and stay.

if you look at most maps here, generally they use grey/team-colored dev textures, if that's what you mean by orange. I see no description where it says anything about vents.......

edit: and what nik said

-There is no description in your first post
-RaVaGe gave you incredibly constructive criticism. It is almost a to-definition example of it
-Of course your first map will be bad, you said it yourself. Prestige said, and I agree, it looks good for a first map, of course with some beginner mistakes.
-The problem is, your attitude. People have been telling you what is wrong, and how to fix it, yet you are getting pissed at them

One of the main concepts in TF2 mapping is placing detail props. For example, vents are used to transport air, usually that of a HVAC system. Indoors. There is no reason for any ducts to be outdoors. It would be as if one was to put the model for the water cooler outdoors. Makes no sense. That is what everyone is trying to say about your ducts.

And about screenshots, turn on AA JUST FOR THE SHOTS. Your FPS doesnt matter when you take screenshots, since all you get is a still, so max out settings! All that you need to have it one shot, and it looks nice.

Keep on working on this map, and get it into a gameday. However, like Prestige said, if all you are going to do is bitch at people who give you feedback, go to FPSb.

Really bad attitude,

You should be very thankful for people that take their time to criticise your map. You may not always agree with their opinions (although most of the critisism presented here is not really a matter of opinion) but always be respectful.

And on top of that it's your first map, what did you expect?

Come on guys, lay off him. He didn't burn the constitution, or murder the love of your life.

It's fine for someone to be sensitive about their map. Even if people don't show it, they're still typically attached to their map unless they're a pretty experienced mapper. It's obvious 1745 hasn't had a lot of experience with mapping, and that he's pretty attached to his map. Additionally, he's probably from Europe (spaces before punctuation) so he's not going to take this like an 'average' guy. Show some respect, we all represent this community.

To 1745, we like to consider ourselves (or at least from what I've seen over the time I've been here) a decently high quality mapping community, so that means to be accepted you're going to have to meet what we like to see in maps, and if you want to succeed you'll have to surpass it. We give feedback not to make you angry but to help you improve your map. Yelling at us for trying to help you won't get you anywhere (not to say these later posts were helpful).

On to the map, I will say this about your vents:
Even though you have a story behind them, I don't think any of us here have seen an example of vents being used like that in real life, or in almost any situation. It's safe to assume many other people will have this reaction, based on how many of us have had it, so I suggest taking out the vents so players on your map don't feel alienated from the map when they play it, or at least weirded out. It's important to keep immersion in a map, and weird structures just keep reminding people they're playing a game, breaking the immersion.

Continuing off of immersion, that was why ravage commented about rocks going through fences. It's just another inconsistency with reality that will cause people to step back and go "wait, what?"

If there isn't a gametype in place here, you'll need to get one in before the map is tested. You can get the map tested over in the events section, under the correct Gameday thread.

Yes, what absurdist said.

Get this in gameday and we'll see how it plays.

A agree what the others say, we aren't trying to put you down or telling you to never map again, but TF2maps.net considers itself to be a rather high quality mapping community, and part of that is constructive criticism. If you don't like to take it, then I think you'll prefer a site such as fpsbanana but we are trying to help you make this map seem better and to improve your mapping skill.

In regards to what I think, It's to open and has some very long sightlines which would completly OP the sniper, maybe you should scale down the map a bit and add some cover apart from vents. In regard to the vents, I don't really see the problem with them, you probably need a bit more of a description but I can vaguely understand that it's a refrigeration plant, and maybe you could replace some with other different props to add some variety. Also, some parts such as the third screenshot look a bit strange and confusing, I think you should stick to using the base so people a) can see that it's a CP easier and b) aren't confused by a cp sticking out at an angle from the ground.

We're just trying to ask that you respect the golden rule here, do onto others as you would have done onto yourself. I don't see any lack of respect in Ravage's post, and yours beams with hostility. We're not trying to be a bad community, we just take offense to those that verbally assault other users unprovoked.
