I put all the content into pakrat, then manually added files, but they aren't appearing in the pakratted bsp.

Are there any secret tips to get this to work. I open up the bsp and all the files are in it, but they don't show in-game....

I'm guessing auto doesn't work, which is why you are manually adding them in. Are you sure you saved the bsp after adding the files into the pak?

you're saying that you opened the .bsp with gcfscape or some other program, and the files were all there under the correct folder structure, yet you still get ERROR signs in-game?

Are they any uncommon type of files? I know from experience that mp3s, whether you pack them in manually or not, just won't pack. Maybe there are other types of files that also do that. Of course, I was using PackBSP.

The missing things are the models. The custom texture is there.

The only thing I can think of is that I put the custom models into custom folders, and so somehow TF2 doesn't want to make those folders when it reads the bsp.

When I take those custom folders and change their name, the bsp doesn't show them at all. There isn't any "ERROR" sign - they just don't appear.

Plus, I tried this with both Pakrat and PackBSP. Both showed all the content inside the bsp, but both failed to display it in-game. Again: no error signs, just missing models.

Are these your own models? You can't move them into other folders/rename folders without recompiling the .qc file. And becuase there's no error sign, it makes me think that it's the textures that aren't working. If they are your own models, check the .qc and make sure the materials and model files are in the right place, and if they're not your own, make sure the files are where the author says to put them.

The one file that *isn't* mine is in the place where the author says to put it, but isn't appearing in-map.

The rest just aren't - they are my custom models - but how do you check the .qc?

I used Propper, and Propper automatically generates a .qc file and compiles the model.

I tried searching for this qc file. Is it packed in the bsp?
