At last I have decided to upload some pictures of my wanna-be artpass contest entry!

I chose the sawmill-esque design with wooden buildings and the muddy ground. And the rain. Not very easy for a newbie like me, I had more problems than successes and I had only one map to follow.
There are lots of things to do - most obvious are the cubemaps, skybox and some ground decoration. Lighting doesn't excel either, but it's in Alpha so no huge problem.

There are a couple of thing I don't know how to repair/tried and failed: the roofs under the paneling is dark and the skybox is stretchy in the corners. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

PS: The "artpass_<yournamehere>" needs the steam or tf2maps accout name? I used the tf2maps one, obviously.

My god, what have you done? This doesn't look like the artpass map at all!
If it wasn't for the fact that I knew it was, I would not be able to spot the similarities.

Damn. Darkhorse entry, watch out people.

At first I didn't know how much design liberty I had and assumed I can only texture.
Then I saw some other entries and started to... trim the map. Hopefully it isn't bad

Its not, its really really good. There's a few places where you might've gone too far, but I think it suites your map more than trying to keep walls the same.

E.g. that little "shack" near B up on the ledge (right side of B as you face it from Red spawn). The original had the "door" on the other side, but that's pretty minor IMO.

Wow, very nice. I love point A. The lighting seems a tad dark though, but I think you'd get away with the changes you've made so far. Any screenshots of point C?

Try disabling the shadows of the props.

Point C - the red base is a refurbished Spytech base and the CP area is full of reflective materials so without cubemaps it's pink. I'll build them as soon as possible and post some pics.

An interesting approach to A, it looks nice. Though the building to the left of A looks too short for the A/B divide overpass as it looks like you can continue to walk over the roofs of the buildings.

Follow me here. You climb displacements onto the roof near the left-center. You go up a sheet of metal, up stairs, through that doorway - you're at A. If you go up that metal sheet and turn LEFT, you see the metal there standing vertically? I do believe it's the wall that Artpass had, but slilghtly shifted over. Which makes me assume to the left, off camera, is a hole for where the upper region of C is.

I do believe a simple picture from Namehere showing the left part of the B-C route would be great so we can see what you DID do. But yeah.

You described the thing exactly.
I'll upload a pic in a second.
