CTF Corn Field

Welcome to CTF Corn Field

*screen shots are before packaging, but purple is not in the map.
*signs are a little limited, as im working on some customs.

* im open to feed back, but please keep in mind this is only my 3rd map


this map is based on corn field for tfc
the object is for blue to advance the flag from point 1 to 4
and red to stop the advancement.

also, i believe there is a map named pl_cornfield. might get confusing with maps that are the same name, but different gametypes (cp_well, arena_well, ctf_Well)

You have massive sighlines on the sides of the cornfield, and I'm not sure the blinding mechanic (corn blocking sight) would be fun for a player, especially if they got caught by surprise. Also, if it's just a massive field, players might have a low chance of running into each other.

A visibility-blocking cornfield would be heaven for Spies and Engineers - Spies can backstab and then hide with little fear of discovery, and ninja Engineer turrets could eviscerate an entire team.

i haven't been able to play test this yet. server admin's being a dork. but, yes yes, lights are coming. i wanted to get it playing good befor i look at looks. and its also a remake of the tfc version. i didn't really know how modern to take it. some people just cant let go of that old damn game. but this is one of my fav maps so, here it is, ;)

B) displacements for terrain
C) cubemaps
D) please refrain from using HL2 textures in TF2 maps

Unfortunately sentry guns can see through non-solid props. block_los might work, though. But still, spy's would probably reign supreme in this environment.

Also the corn props are for use at a distance, they are low poly and low detail. Not for walking through.
