Um, started on blocking out this cement mixer vehicle today. and wow it needs a ton of work. looks totally squashed which makes it look like a toy allover :D
i think i'm gonna try a different base on the front as well. not too happy with this one so far.

It's so awesome that you're making this! I just think the mixer needs to be almost twice as long. :p

haha :D
egg truck ftw ^^
i don't really know why but in the render the thing loooks totally stretched in every dimension that it shouldn't be. lots and lots of proportion issues !
just messed around with it a bit more and i'm going with the trim version - looks much better, imo. gonna post update soon later on :)
also scaled the egg and it makes it look much better already. thanks for that hideous hint :D

Cut down on polys and make it really small. Is heavy's new truck.

dragged some vertices around here and there, made the egg longer and added a darker trim on the front. i'm liking the direction that it's taking. guess i might go into full detail mode tomorrow.
the tires are also temporary stolen from the tractor - bare with me ;)

Looks a lot better, still a bit toy-ish but excellent work so far!
keep up the great work!

Will you add some more details like tanks and ladders and stuff?

Also, I just searched for lots of images, and I think your reference might be bad, probably a little too stylized. Most of those I found had the driver's seat thing like this.

Now, I did see a couple that looked like yours, but I think the common image of a cement mixer truck looks more like what I posted.

EDIT: I know, I should've said something earlier. :p Well it's up to you, I'd love to use it either way.

more detail sure. but it won't look like your truck.
my reference IS a toy so far :D
it has a loooooong way to go. i'm adding more detail for sure, like i said, but i wanted it to keep it in line with the dumptruck model so it's not too much over the top detailled. gonna be tough call, but i'm giving it a try.

maybe you can post/link the ones that looked like mine :D
more references are always good and helpful ! since what i have right now is just a basic blockout for the overall proportions. so shoot them, while you're at it !

The ladder/cab part is scaled like it is a mining dumptruck - massive. Imagine how big a man would be on the picture if he were climbing the ladder or in the cab (both of which are at quite different scales). But they don't make concrete trucks that big.

I'm with Booj, the cabin and the ladder look quite a bit too small. Loving the style though. I'd also suggest changing the front support for the uh... egg, to a semicircular mount with a mechanism for rotating situated to one side. Keep up the good work. :)

Hell, you gotta finish this before Artpass is over! I'd love to use it at my B location, has the whole god damn thing is under construction!
