ok, can folks talk to me in units and scale ?
I still don't understand what scale would make everyone comfortable.
(Nutomic, I'll leave the missile at this scale unless you want it changed)

Right now the missile itself is around 80units in diameter and ~780units high.

Which works quite nicely in Nutomic's level because we get to see a good portion of the fuselage before it disappears through the roof. More interesting aesthetically ...

Now. Question to the folks who have issues with the scale of this missile.

Would you rather the scale be ramped up so all you saw as a player saw was the jets and a the bottom fins? Or put another way, in an opening 256x256, would you like to have the missile fill it out completely?

@Boylee: uhm ... the nose cone on this one, alone, is 5 men high. Notice the technicians with hardhats standing beside it.

Ahhhh OK, don't know where I got 400 units high from then. 780 units sounds much better, still obv. not ICBM size but who's to say that's what it is. If it fits the place it's being requested for, and Nutomic likes it then run with it man. Looks like a decent size to me.

It's believably huge without being dis-interestingly gigantic (that is, if all I got to see was a tailfin and the exhaust nozzle I'd be severely disappointed).

You got that from me or the OP here ... Nutomic's original request was for a missile 400units high.

I'll get in the habit from now on of placing a person beside my props for scale.

good it was released today :D
looks awesome from bottom to top ! still, for my taste way to detailled in some areas, but in general that's one badass rocket ! you guys make a great team ! hope to see much for stuff in the future !

Needs a 1/16th-scale "skybox" version, which may or may not have lower polycount.

I'm just guessing someone will eventually wish it existed.

i guess not. But you'll have to edit the texture on the missile a bit cuz there's ambient occlusion baked into the side that'll look kinda wierd.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but this model looks pretty sweet and would do well in my current map's last control point. The download link gives a 404- anyone got this model still?
