Translation: It'll still take five years, but they'll get them done.

Nice Velvet. Hey, it could always be worse, it could be Blizzard or their customer support. Btw, Valve and Blizzard are (or were?) sister companies, correct? I think I heard that once somewhere.

I think Valve just had a publishing partnership with Sierra. Vivendi owns Sierra and Blizzard.

That's about as an optimistic response as anyone could have hoped for i think. Shmitz is right. There's no need for them to divulge specific information regarding development, you'd have to be a pretty important or maybe a fancy games critic like i dunno, Yahtzee for that.

He was privy to observing the creation of the "Meet the Scout" movie clip  It's a pretty private process and i'm not surprised why. I think that's a great response though. I'm not sure of any other game dev team would have even replied in acknowlegdement of such concerns.

To be honest, Valve actually seems to be pretty open to people visiting them, but they don't go out of their way to publish what they're up to. I remember reading about a couple of fans who were in the area, and emailed Gabe to see if they could visit, and were allowed to, and got to playtest portal (this was before its release). Neither of them were "fancy games critics" (nor is Yahtzee, to be honest :) ).

That's a pretty swift reply. When did you actually submit the reply, the 8th? It's nice to know they still like to keep in touch the custom content community.

The message where he said he sent it was on the 12th, yesterday at the time of this writing.

Maybe someone lent Valve a time machine, because a turn around of one day seems very fast for them.

Well, Im pretty sure they will be adding at least 1 fix.

Very good find.

TFC could apparently do a lot of different things (never played it myself), and I would like a system like this to come to TF2. It would extend the games longevity indefinitely.

I have a gamemode test level all set up and the only caveat is the fact I can't set a certain team to damage func_breakables.

They're having a discussion with Tony Sergi about a damage filter that can be configured for TF2, since the one we have doesn't work.

Any response is a good response.
I would expect that while they already have changes in mind for future tf2 updates.. the list if not giving them new ideas.. at least helps them prioritize what they already thought would benefit us.
