Hi there, this is the thread for Hanz's awesome Art Pass.

I'm going with a summer alpine theme. I will try to get little pieces of snow in which are melting, because it's summer. :D
The areas before RED's base will be made out of wood, the areas beneath the rocks, RED's base, will be made out of concrete walls. :)
Also, when C get's captured there will happen something cool, something with PPPPSSSSSSSHHHH and BOOM C.








might be a geyser or something

So from now on I have a thread and I will be updating this regularly. :D

Now post your opinions! :)

Oh and, nothing is fully detailed yet. Only the buildings which are specifically showed in 1 screenshots are detailed.

Started detailing C, I'm atm doing the corridors around C. The higher part of C is partly done, I haven't started with the lower part yet and the pit.

Some shots of the corridors (not much to see but I didn't have other screenshots than these):

It just sees way too neat and tidy, to me. There's very little in terms of clutter anywhere, and feels kinda sparse.

Also, if you disagree, remember: opinion.

I know that the outside areas feel kinda empty, I also haven't been putting rocks and trees and these things in there. :)

I'll do that when I get back sunday.

Yeah Hanz that building to the right of A looks a whole hell of a lot better now doesn't it? Now that you have those vertical boards though you need a horizontal or diagonal frame inside the structure to brace it all.

Huge improvement man! EXCELSIOR!

Ugly cliff is ugly. Having it drop off into the skybox is worse that creating a wall you can't see over unless you rocket jump (and having nothing behind it).

Anyways Gorge style cp A looks kind of off, but i still like the smexyness :p

Lol if you are talking about picture 2 and 3... these areas are obviously not done. :facepalm:

I'm liking the overall progress and your general ideas for the theme and scenes but boy it's a looooong way :eek:
the thing i absolutely don't like is your lighting. it's so bland and characterless. it's very high in contrast and makes most of the textures and props really clash.

strikes me especially on the first screenshot that seems most complete:

there are all these harsh reds, greens, greys and blues fighting over color leadership. that is a huge letdown for me at the moment :/

Be aware of which tree models you're using, you've got the ultra-low poly ones up front and they look reeeeeallly ugly.

Edit: here, you've got it right in in the shot with your river.

Yesterday I started reworking the spawn. I have the spawn buildings almost done, the building that should be left of the spawn (at the concrete things at the shack) has not been built yet, I will do that today and finish up the spawn. :)

I will try to have that area done today and after that I will be finishing up the skybox around the area spawn - CP A, then move up to B. :)

What do you think so far?
