Kinda related to my other space related thread i got curious on this whole space theme and did some research. I just stumbled into some modeling of door, floor and wall pieces that obviously need to nowhere :D
So i thought, hey why not elaborate a bit more on the topic and just TRY to make a simple theme/set out of this. Again, it's just me trying to come up with stuff. Chances to succeed (read: release) are tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny :blushing:
This is just me trying to spend holiday time :D
My current references include footage of James Bond Moonraker, 2-3 Austin Powers pictures (couldn't find more or better shots) and the NS2 texture set from PhilipK that he released to the public a couple of weeks ago.

Disclaimer: If you should stumble upon cool space related stuff feel free to dump it in this thread as kind of a reference archive for anyone interested. I really really need your help on this guys and girls !

1) What props could be needed to make a little but kinda convincing spaceship/moonbase map ?
2) What search terms could be used to get some nice reference images of spaceship themed photos that kinda fit in the era of tf2 ?
3) On what franchises, movies, maps of other games e.g. could i fall back to and find some good pictures ?

Here's 3 space maps that i could hunt down, each trying to come up with a convincing space themed map.

I'd say take a look at games like Alien Swarm and Natural Selection to see what kinds of "junk" they have.

well no, that's the point, i guess. these two examples clearly take place in the scifi future with heavy aliens/creatures and whatnot.
while in tf2 or let's say the james bond moonraker as an example there's no such things involved ;)
nice and clean and monsterfree :D
and another thing to add, a white/beige/grey creme look is what could work best in tf2, imo.

edit: Grim Tuesday, i spammed your steamchatbox for 2 days and didn't get one single reply out of it ;) better hurry up :p

Acumen, I feel bad for not replying. I habitually close excess windows that Steam opens, thinking they are event announcements from steam groups that I joined, and dont give a shit about.

Also, I leave Steam, and usually the tf2maps chatroom on 24/7, so even if it says im there, I probably arent.

I am very interested in your feedback, and your modeling talent :)
