Making Blend textures is easy. Just copy this code into notepad then save it as a .vmf
Code:
Worldvertextransition
{
$basetexture "folder/texture"
$surfaceprop "rock"
$basetexture2 "folder/texture2"
$surfaceprop2 "grass"
$blendmodulatetexture "nature/blendmask"
"%tooltexture" "folder/texture"
That will give you a pretty decent blend texture. The texture you see in Hammer will just be the primary texture of the blend.
Other parameters to increase the quality of your texture:
adding 2 to the end of the parameter will apply it to the second texture [e.g $bumpmap2]
$bumpmap
$ssbump [if using self-shadowing]
$envmap, $normalmapalphaenvmapmask, $envmaptint
$seamless_scale 0.005 (This blends your texture together perfectly, good for rough surfaces)
A list of $blendmodulatetextures:
- nature/snowwall_blendmask
- nature/snowgrass_blendmask
- nature/grass_blendmask
- nature/gravelgorund001_blendmask
I only say this because anytime you ask someone to make you a blend texture, alls they're doing is going into an image editor like Gimp. Sticking pictures of your two textures together as the tool texture, then adding these parameters.
