Model Vines

Hey guys, I figured I'd try asking, perhaps someone will be willing to make these. I'm in need of some nice leafy green vine models similar to say,

Acouple of styles would be nice,
For the green ones:
- small ground level ones - 50-8h x 50w or whatever. Kinda like the ferns in the swamp pack.
- medium size - 168h x 50w
- Large - 336h x 50w
- Extreme - 200h x 500w (perhaps this is a bad idea performance wise?)
(Width's can be wider, I was planning on layering them where needed)

The second sort I was after was the more wood, less leaves sort:
http://www.travelblog.org/Photos/182326 Kinda like the ones hanging from the trees in this picture. Mostly a thick vine with a few leaves hanging off of it that could run up a wall or something.

Sizes: 168h or just make it so that I can connect the ends together if I need really long ones. :)

Third:
Perhaps not worth while doing, but an overlay / decal with the leaves on them, so that way I could use models that are in the players eye line, and then use grass on displacements + the decal higher up to avoid having to use a tonne of models.


I've already grabbed the stuff from the Swamp pack, but the vines in that aren't really very good. I can give you a screenshot of how I'm using them if you wish. :)

How do they look in game? My first thought is that the edges of the leaves are too sharp and instead of being detail on the walls they'll stand out, but perhaps in game they'll look alright. :)

I didnt compiled it to see ingame yet. Texture is too crap still. Also whole thing is about 100 polys. Hat is about 800 for comparison. I could make leafs more defined but it would easily double polycount. They are not flat as I tried to retain general shape. Ill get them to scale and in game next to see how it looks.

E: Got it in game but ofc my textures wont work on anything god damn it.

Im working on it now, i had a problem with textures... How to get them show texture on both sides. So i decompiled some valve stuff and i found solution. They just used 2 polys not 1. Oh well.
Need to redo leafs and make lod models. And then texture. Wont take too long i hope ill steam friend you for easier communication.

There is something that just doesn't look right here.
The texture looks rather terrible. Make it darker. ;)

I'll be working with Boylee on some deciduous trees very soon. I'm not acclimated to modeling organic stuff, so i figured that I'd warm myself up by taking on some of this ivy request. Find attached my blocking. Hours of tweaking leaves is quite meditative.

Needless to say textures ware very much WIP. Looks somewhat different now...

Try adding more variation to the leaves.
Size, and rotation variations could really help it look a lot less mechanical and more natural.

Leafs are randomly rotated, but i wanted them to face the front. Ive also randomly scaled them after the pic dunno why i didnt thought about it before.

here's my try for the normal vines :)
couldn't get it to lit properly in Crafty, so here's a quicky wip. quite satisfied with the texture :)
