Hammer keeps crashing

I'm sorry if this question has already been answered, but I'm getting so frustrated.

I was doing fine with Hammer earlier, using custom textures on the contest map. Now, all I have to do it open the map and it crashes.

I'm very new to mapping, if anything, I don't know anything at all. I've figured out some things, on mapping, but that's about it. So all the fancy words, I have no idea what anyone is talking about. ;_;

Does anyone know how to fix this problem or am I just out of the contest completely...?

To be honest, I believe I fixed my problem. If I open the map, not move my mouse, and just sit for 10 minutes, it will work. Sorry for the trouble! ><
