Played it for around an hour and a half with some randoms, had a blast. It was so fun to just stumble around figuring everything out for the first time.

I see that it is class based. Stuck at ~60KB/S download :/ IN AMERICA, and would like to know how class based is it.... like halo reach "classes" and the differences between them vs. TF2 classes and the differences between them.

I really like this game :) It's still a laugh even if everyone is terrible, and the little things like tech minigames are quite good too. It'll be interesting to see what mappers and modders do with this game.

Edit: It also comes with its own sdk- cool.

Just finished the campaign with flame. Aside from the inconsistent difficulty curve, Its incredibly fun.

They should make a L4D version of this.

Oh, and it desperately needs more maps!

I looked at the Alien Swarm SDK. They gave us example maps for Hammer, yay! This is a very good thing, as it looks like there's a bunch of new stuff with the engine for Alien Swarm. Also, the maps are big. And the perspective makes things challenging. Should be good!

Matt and I are taking a look through the examples and entities. A lot of the stuff is pretty self explanatory, but there's a lot more work to put into an AS map than expected. Thank god for the tile editor.

You know what would be awesome?

If the tile editor was basically a test for one to come with Portal 2.

Although i am not a fan of top-down view games, this one is really interesting.
Compared to l4d this is more like a strategy, looking forward to play it with friends, not with random people online..

Is it just me or does this look oddly familiar to the MGS/MGS4 lift drop when going down after fighting all the genome soldiers on it to where REX is being held. Lol. As soon as I saw it that was the first thing I thought of. It's just missing the computer node on the bottom most part of the machinery.
