The EU server will no longer be officially affiliated with TF2maps.net. A (the same) server will still be running in the EU, but will not be run by the admins here; I have taken it off of DrPepper's hands to continue its usage.

There are certain aspects of this agreement that should be made aware.

  • The server will not be advertised on the website or the steam user group.
  • There will be no steam group announcements for the server.
  • The server can be discussed in the steam group chat and announcements made into the chat about playtest sessions through word of mouth.
  • Announcements for gamedays can be made in the events forum at TF2maps.net.
  • There will no longer be support for uploading to the server through the website.
  • There will however still be a redirect to the site.
  • Finally, I will personally be running the server.

What does this mean?

Things will probably not run as smoothly for the EU server regarding play tests, there is less opportunity for people to take the initiative and without steam announcements there may be some difficulty filling the server from time to time.

However, please contact me if you wish to gain server admin privilages to help smooth the servers existance.

Finally. I'm usually online most days so i'm reachable through steam. If you want your map uploaded or put on rotation please PM me and i will get on the case ASAP. You should see a response within at least 24hours.

Thank you, Grazr.

A lot of the EU players find the new server Unplayable, and this should help them/me out quite a bit.

When you guys PM me with upload requests, please link the download and discussion thread and i'll post a notification into your map thread when the map is uploaded to the server.

I know a PM reply might just suffice, but from experience TF2maps members are often left unaware of what maps are readily uploaded to the server until they personally join the server and try to change the map, only to find the file missing.

Hopefully this will allow you guys to better prepare tests as the EU server wont be directly run by TF2maps admins, so there are less chances for you guys to find help for EU impromtu's. This should also be helpful when the author is not present.

I'll also try and keep track of maps i remove so that authors are aware that they can no longer organise re-tests of X-version of their map on the EU server, but we'll see how tedious that gets on my part.
