On a Custom Texture, how can I make Dirt on it, instead of Going on a Dirty Version of a texture then Lightening it with curves, Blah blah blah ect.

If you Didn't get that, How do I make the Dirt on textures Rather than Applying it

I'm not sure of your use of the word make. Do you mean physical models, like the grass sprites on some textures?

Valve used a distinct brown color with a square brush and added a transparent layer onto it. It looks like brushstroked dirt. They also used a darker, circular brush along the bottom to add some trim.

The circle brush is the default Ps brush, AFAIK. Ps also has a tutorial for making your own brushes, but if that's too confusing, use GIMP; its brush controls are ridiculously easy.
