Particle Blocking

Is there any entity in TF2 that will block the showing of particles, or something that will limit the range of a particle effect? I've used the drip effect from Sawmill which is dripping from a pipe of mine into water, but the drips continue down underwater all the way to the floor. You're able to swim around in the water, so it looks kind of odd that there are water drips underwater.

Then again, it might just be that I need to create some sort of control point for the particle effect. I'll look in the particle editor, and knowing me I'll find the answer five seconds after I've posted this.

I think that there is a drip particle in the swamp pack, it has one particle for the drip and then one where the drip hits the floor.

My problem is, does the drip disappear (get culled) when it hits a surface, or will it keep going until it's the defined distance away from the particle emitter? If it keeps going, that's when I get my underwater drips.

When it hits the lower particle, the one which plays the splash animation, the drip stops.

Sorry, for some reason I didn't get e-mail notified even though I'm subbed to this thread.

I'd never noticed that, personally. I'll have to check it out in Sawmill to see how Valve do it.
