I think I might enter

Can we use lights or does it have to be fullbright? :p

Edit: Since we can use healthkits and ammo, can we use them as props?
I mean, it's still a healthkit, right?

Edit: Also I'm assuming you can use triggers etc, since they don't show up in-game

You cannot use any prop_ stuff. You can use healthkits and ammo because they are gameplay entities.

Water in itself isn't a texture, just some light warping.

For this contest, I made my own texture for that.

Can I just clarify some rules? just for my own sake.

Size: can I have a few brushes outside the 2048 square as long as there are not in the "playing area"? (that is to say, I have some large walls on some sides with some un-impressive stuff on top)

Viewing: Must the player be able to spawn and move around? or would all entries be viewed in spectator mode?

I think that is all I need to know... I'll edit the post if I think of anything I may have forgotten.

Nothing outside of the 2048 x 2048 area. NOTHING. And no, you don't need to spawn a player, you don't need it to be functional

You do realize how contradictorily silly your rules are, right? You hardline on nothing outside 2048 yet we can have a 3D skybox that completely circumvents that. Normally gameplay or model considerations prevent excessive use of 3D skybox, but in this case the entire map could be made in the skybox and it would look and act the same. :p

I imagine no one is interested anymore since the recent news the major contest. That's why I wanted to keep this one short--but we're still on, and there's still a prize!

I don't think it has anything to do with these textures. If there was something wrong, I think there would have been people complaining of these issues back during the contest. If you'd like, save a separate version, remove all the developer textures (use the replace function) and try compiling again.
