Everyone knows that everything's better with clones. Like sheep, and Zelda. What if I told you that the guys who made those clones also had an ad on their site reported for malware? What do you mean that's bad? The site's all good. It's just the ad. It doesn't do anything. Whatever. No you're stupid!

Zelda Classic is a clone of the original Legend of Zelda with a couple of features to make it even better. "How is that possible?" you ask. "Step right up!" I say. "I don't want any," they'd say. And away I'd go to my next adventure. Why, what if I tell you that with this smooth deal, you can also get:

  • The Original Legend of Zelda and all three included quests!
  • Support for PC, OSX, and Linux systems!
  • A complete quest editor to design your very own Zelda games!
  • Graphic editors to pimp your quest!
  • Dozens of new items and features beyond the original Zelda!
  • Support for ZScript, a scripting language to expand on the already numerous additions!
  • An Octorok plushie*!
  • And more!

Relive the fun and excitement of yesteryear and even improve on what's already great! I am not an ad and do not work for Armageddon Games, just an obsessive Zelda fan!

Controls:
Arrow keys, of course, represent the D-Pad
controls.png

For other reference:
Esc will access the menu
F6 continues (if you get stuck)
F7 restarts the program
F8 will exit

Super awesome play like a pro tips:
  • In the original quest, your own bombs won't hurt you, but fire will.
  • You need five heart containers to get the white sword and twelve to get the magic sword.
  • Shuttered doors require something to happen in the room you're in. Most of the time you just have to defeat all the enemies, but it could also involve pushing blocks.
  • The whistle allows you to travel to previously completed dungeons.
  • Like-Likes, the enemies that eat you, will also eat your shield.
  • After you add your name, press Alt twice to load a custom quest.
  • Registering your name as ALPHA will skip to the second quest. Registering it as GANON will let you skip to the fourth, secret quest.
  • Darknuts, the guys with the shields, will block bomb blasts. Turn to face in the same direction they are before placing bombs.
  • Statues and graves on the overworld spawn enemies when you touch them. Statues vanish afterward, but graves won't. That doesn't mean you can't push some!
  • Also, don't touch Armos statues or graves from below unless you like taking damage.
  • You can burn some trees.

*Plushie is not real do not try to buy one off the site or off me feel free to make your own.

Unfortunately, one particular ad on that site has been reported for malware, which in turn brings down the whole thing. Just click through it.

EDIT:

Doy, stupid me forgot to add the site for 2.5. Download it from the second link.

I made a quest with this a while ago, never finished it because a new version of zquest broke it. I might make a new version with Alttp graphics or something.
It had a temple in the sky and a stone tower-esque dungeon where you flip the place upside down

It'd take a lot of scripting. And I mean a lot.

Actually hey, the game breaking bug seems to have finally been fixed by the latest version.
The quest is insanely hard though, I'll do some changes and release it then for oyu all to enjoy, uh, suffer.

As long as the puzzles aren't so obscure.
