All those weeks of revising and doing no mapping are over...wait, I've got that the wrong way round...

I tried to avoid posting on forums during 'study leave' to hopefully make it look like I was revising, I return to see the announcements have been taken over by robots :bored:
Well, expect more never-to-be-finished maps being released by me soon :)

Oh also, why stil no whales :crying:

Hm, i kinda feel that way...

I should probably have never entered the contest because of its timing on the last semester of university, but i had been waiting for a ctf contest for well over a year and jumped right in. It was the only contest i really ever wanted to do.

I say that because my marks were 2:1 across the board but according to a friend who worked out my unit and credit count i'm heading for a 2:2. It's not confirmed (and i'm not sure how a "2:2" and "3" project brings down a high 2:1 average) but i'm gonna feel pretty stupid considering my map didn't even pass prelims.

Such is life...

Erm...I didn't understand a word of that xD I've only just finished high school, probably should've mentioned that it was my GCSE's I've just finished.

Edit:
I've still got 2 more exams D:

Good luck

Should not have entered the contest, last semester of uni, waited for a ctf contest and jumped right in

I had good marks across the board, but according to a friend who worked out my units/credits (like marks) I'm heading for a 2:2 which is worse than what I previously was at. It's not confirmed (and I'm not sure how a 2:2 and 3 bring down a high average) but I feel pretty stupid cos my map didn't pass prelims

C'est la vie.

Over the summer I hope to finish Amargosa then we'll see what next year brings. I'm hoping for 5 As in my highers, so I might have to work more map less. If it means being less productive and getting a definite chance of getting into university then I'll be happy! (When in reality, I need 3 B's one of which is maths to get into the course I want)

I think it was more that he doesn't understand the marking system.

University grades are marked as:
First-Class Honours (1st) 70+
Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) 60-69
Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2) 50-59
Third-Class Honours (Third or 3rd) 40-49
Ordinary degree (Pass)
Fail (no degree is awarded)

I had a 62 mean average for my projects, which is a 2:1. But apparently our course has a "unique" marking scheme so i cannot be sure of these results. A friend who is apparently "in the know" about these technicalities states that i have achieved a 2:2.

I believe it's because of how the semesters are weighted regardless of a units "total marks" (layman's term). IE my course ran for 3 years, the first year was for "practice" so only the second and third year's projects are counted towards my degree. My second year must be weighted less, bringing my average down, regardless of the raw unit marks.

edit: But enough about my failure at life, i hope everything goes well for you guys!! And enjoy your summer, this will be my last one before full time employment so i need to make sure i do for sure :p

yeah, my brother is in uni doing prod design and engineering so I kinda hear phrases like "2:1" and "credits" thrown about. Never really looked into it though :p

You have to go back to school in August already (if you're not done already with school? :p)!
