yeah gl finding any community who wants to play 20 half assed maps from people who clearly had no idea why/what made ctf fun. The best feedback in the world wouldnt have helped some of these entries and with 3 months of time youd think some people would have learned to actually play tf2 instead of just mapping for it to get a better knowledge themselves

edit: that 5% are the most open to custom maps. also almost like 50% of the community maps have gone through 2f2f before going official. and since everyone seems to want their map to go official i see a trend. unless you want to suck off sean cutino but if your map winds up being as popular as junction, youll know why

2f2f has a rather annoying registration process, even though i registored through the server (before being kicked for being EU) i still couldn't get onto the forums. That community is apparently out of bounds for anyone other than US players...

Nice.

And my experience showed me otherwise, I played in competitive leagues for over a year before getting sick of it and I could count on one, war-torn hand how many of the players I meet liked custom maps that weren't cp_fastlane.

What?

2f2f has loads of europeans, and I guarantee you that you were definitely not kicked out for being EU :S

Nobody ever gets kicked (by an admin) for a high ping. TF2 Just automatically kicks you if you cannot handle all the (voice) data sent to you. Just type 'rate 90000" in the console and you won't be kicked anymore.

[EDIT] Also, more on the thread subject:

If the ones organizing a competitive mapping event dont stretch themselves out to the competitive community, then it is their fault for it to fail. However, if they stretch out but the competitive community does not respond, then make that clear before you start and do not have a competitive contest in the first place.
In either way, the organization needs to be better. Things need to be thought out, not just put to the test and think everything will be alright. That is the job for an organiser.

grazr may be wrong, but it's true. No European can ever expect to play a proper game there with a ping of 100+.

How come we're talking about 2f2f anyways? I thought this was a problem to do with a lack of testing within the TF2M community, to do with a TF2M competition?

I get 100+ and I play perfectly fine :O
Fine, somehow EVERYONE is playing fine with pings in the thousands and I am the only one ever noticing anything. >_>

To me, the 2f2f servers are inaccessible thanks to them being in the US.

likely because every possible on topic post has been made and theres nothing left to do but derail the thread <_<

Here let me rectify that then.

I never told anyone not to join your lobbies. People just learned on their own that if you were participating, they were a waste of time.

So thanks for making a crappy situation worse!

Believe what you want you conceited little shit. When it comes down to it, of all the people to work against getting 6v6 tests done inside this community you were right up in first.
