Ahoy! I deemed that I was in need of a mapper oriented community again now that I'm going to get back into it, this seems like a good place (biggest one I found oriented towards TF2 anyway :p)

Haven't mapped for a few years as TFC and NS sorta died out and left me no reason to map. Before that I'd done stuff for several years. Thankfully TF2 has once again inspired me to get creating and actually learn all the intricacies of Source. Which leads me to my project at hand...

I'm working on remaking Avanti from TFC. I thought a remake would be best to get me going again, as it takes a lot of the load off me, and searching around I didn't find anyone doing it yet, unlike some other maps I had enjoyed.
I've currently got the rough draft remake brushwork done (all from my photographic memory too, no decompile! :D) and am working on getting it into a playable state to give it a test before I do too much so I can find out what alterations are needed to suit the changes in gameplay. I have it tenatively named Navati, since it won't be a replica, namely it's going to be a one-way standard CP setup, instead of carrying a flag. I'll get a WIP thread up over there once I got some more stuff done.

Welcome Snark.

TF2 mapping will probably be the hardest to map for in my opinion. But i love a challenge. Just thought id mention that :p

Thanks. TF2 shouldn't be too bad, not after NS. Those maps were hell to balance.

edit: who changed my topic title? >.> was it breaking something?

I haven't even had time to introduce myself but I would like to welcome you nevertheless!
Do you have any images of your previous work? I loved TFC and NS.
