You have until the 30th for the contest. The contest is completely seperate from the game day.

The game days happen roughly every weekend and are just events for people to test out their maps, this one mentions the contest only because it is the last chance for people to have their map tested out by a wide audience before the contest deadline.

If you want your map played this weekend on the TF2Maps.net server, then you need to post in this thread with a link to a downloadable copy of your map you want tested before 5:00 pm EST.

just going to point out...if your using the free version of ripway, you should probably not host maps on it, they tend to be quite large and suck up your monthly bandwidth very quickly, and if your account closes down for that then the people who need it for the server can't get it

I should point out that the submission deadline for the actual contest, to have it judged and eligable for the prize, is April 30.

just watched the demo recording of my map from last week this is a great feature :thumbup:

I've been working another 20 to 30 hours I guess on beta 2 to improve gameplay and atmosphere. A couple of minutes ago I released it and would like to nominate it again.

I don't used it to host my maps when they've been released, I just put them there for quick and easy downloads in certain situations instead of having to fill in forms to upload it anywhere else.

Bummer. I really wanted to playtest my map, but I won't get home for a couple hours to zip it up. Let me know if theres some way I can squeek in and the end of the playtest.

Oh, ok, the 30th is what I thought originally, and what I was aiming to have completed by. Good to know I've still got time to get it in for the contest proper!

I just logged onto the server, expecting it to be packed to the brim, but there was no-one there...

I guess I'll try again on Sunday.

Game day starts at 4:00 pm EST, it is currently only 2:49 pm EST as of my posting this. We still got a little over an hour before it starts.

Stop by the chat room if you want something to do before the game day.

Oh hang on, that was the US game day , sorry I got confused. It was just that the map that was on was the map before mine and it was also the correct time (GMT) that it should've been on. Plus, when I did go on the server it said the next map was my map. Was the server rehearsing or something?

What I know about servers is that they stick to a map when noone is online, so that it was the good time probably was just luck.

all the links to maps by rt3407v06p909 are dead for me :( i've uploaded the others to the server

its getting close to start, and i've done the upload etc.....have to spend time with wife now :p but if you wanted to post a link to contraption on coltsplayground.net we (ie one of the other admins there) will try and get it on the server in time for the test!! you know you wanna :p
