Issue downloading map

Hello,

I am trying to test my map on a server with some buddies but we are getting an issue where if someone doesn't have the map they will get an error message about the map being missing rather than downloading the map.

Is there some special method or format to make TF2 download the map for someone rather than just giving them the error and disconnecting them from the server? :O

yes, use the program http://www.7-zip.org/ to make your map a .bz2.

Download the prog, find your .bsp map in the teamfortress/tf/maps folder and right click. Select "to archive" and click OK in the next window. you now have a mapname.bsp.bz2

I get this all the time with every map. Nothing helps it. You have to download beforehand which sucks.

We had a bunch of server tutorials and one of them being on this exact thing but I think they might have been destroyed when we revamped the site. :S

@DjD - I tried your method and it didn't seem to fix the issue. Every time someone joins the server where my map is they get the error "Map not Found, Disconnecting"

I am wondering if this is a known issue for TF2? I also had this problem when I was testing out the new CTF map pack. Anyone have any ideas or theories of how to fix this?

I think you need to set the "sv_downloadurl" variabe on the server.

There are alot of tutorials on the internet, just google it.
