Saguaro is a single stage PL map. The map is not as huge as the most PL maps, the distances between the points are not too long.

The map is set in a western environment and will have a theme like Goldrush or Badwater.

Yes! I'm remaking Saguaro at the moment! I guess I can release tomorrow, only gotta do playerclips and ammo/health packs yet.

Also, thread has been purged because this is kind of a new map and the old one was full of clutter about the older versions. :)

From playtest:

- Map needs more "oomph" - it plays well, is well designed, but it's doesn't have that little shine yet that makes it special. The start and end areas especially could do with a little fun experimenting
- Weird gates around the first point that do not open when it's capped.
- Can't walk back into the forward spawns.
- A few more arrows would be nice.
- More of a personal thing, but: we've seen so much badwater/goldrush themed payload maps. Please consider making it gorge or lumberyard themed!
- End area has a weird structure with an odd one-way gate for RED. Consider making one big spawn instead of two tiny ones, and extend it all the way across the top to where the one-way gate is now. That would make a little more sense.

Yeah Tinker and me just found another theme for the map. Saguaro is a sort of cacti, so one of the themes had to have something to do with cacti.

[Option 1] I could use the old, planned one:

Goldrush themed -> desert -> cacti

[Option 2] Or the new one:

A gorge themed map with secret plantations of cacti in the base, and maybe 1 huuuuge cacti. :p

Edit: And there will also be greenhouses.

Who votes for option 1 and who votes for option 2? :D

I like what you have now. I'd rather see a well done desert map than a weird cactusy alpine one :p

It felt like this map needed some extra craziness. The map is nice and plays nice, but it's not very special

saquaro is single stage, and I assure you I'd love new lighting and environment for amargosa, but stuff like that will all come for beta at least for me. I'd like to see more alpine pl, but from what I've seen a lot of alpine is done badly.

Do Alpine! Aramgooosaaa is kinda thge "latest" Goldrush style map, And people above are correct.
Maybe people use the goldrush theme for Payload maps too much. Alpine will be different!

Goldrush has the best lighting though.......IMO

I thought alpine was completely overused, like even more than goldrush?

So what are the thoughts after testing it a second time?

The chokepoint thing right after cp 1 was a mostly because of the not working one way door for BLU I think.

Then there was another chokepoint right after cp 2, I don't really know how to fix that one.

Any feedback/thoughs/opinions?

saguaro was my first love.

Choke point at A might also be helped by moving the cap slightly further along the track. Not too much, as then it will be too hard to get to the point.
As for the choke point at B, there are a lot of tight spaces. Try opening up the side of the bridge facing red team.
