Among other things, a game soaking up a ton of my time right now is Blur. It's Bizarre Creation's new game.

Blur is basically what you get if you take real cars and add in mario-kart style powerups. I realize that doesn't sound terribly awesome, but the game is really great. I'm was a huge fan of Project Gotham Racing, and that game was "just an arcade racing game," but it also happened to be very well-designed and fun. Well, Blur is kind of like that. It takes a simple power-up concept, and perfects it.

This sort of goes without saying, but Blur is way more fun than mario kart, otherwise I wouldn't be raving about it. If you play racing games I 100% recommend it.

I'm playing it on 360, so if any of you have it/get it, let me know so we can play together! No one else on my friends list has it. D:

Looks like a great game, I had to choose this or Red Dead Redemption due to a lack of money though. And I'm glad I chose Red Dead Redemption - that's an amazing game.

Blur is going on my "games I need to buy" list, though.

Not to derail the topic, but Red Dead has an amazingly emotional ending.

Blur looks cool, but I can't help but think it will end up being a bit shallow in the end.

No spoilers!

I was a skeptical of whether Blur had legs until I played the beta. It's got a leveling and reward system similar to MW2 and Bad Company 2. And it's actually implemented really well - its not just a trite knock-off.

That and the lobby system makes it worth playing. The lobbies work in such a way that it's easy to find the kind of game you're looking for, and so that your group won't break apart and leave between races. It works out great. Out of any racing game I've played it's the most solid online framework.

edit: Unlike poor Forza 3, which I can't bring myself to play online anymore. I really like that game but the online latency and lobby issues really brought it down.

I'm considering buying this for PC (from Steam of course!) but I'm worried about the PC controls- racing games are probably the only games that are best with a controller.
