Just found this site as I was searching for tips on getting started mapping in TF2.
And by tips I mean something like "This is how you configure Hammer to work for TF2" and the way through "...and that's how you compile a TF2 map which you can now play".
(I haven't mapped since DoD, before it switched to Steam, so while I used to do it a lot, I am bound to be completely lost...)
