I have put in place a new way for everyone who is registered to upload maps.
You can start uploading maps here:

http://tf2maps.net/downloads.php

You can add your map, a description, and screenshots of the map.
When you upload a map, model, texture, etc.. a post is automatically made in the appropriate forum with all the info.

This is extremely beta on the site and would appreciate feedback. Bug reports should be posted here too!

Nifty! Hopefully people will start uploading some nifty textures and models.
Perhaps a request thread some where is needed.

I have a suggestion for the grading of maps. Maybe we could some type of categories instead of one overall grade. The categories could be stuff like: Playability, Beauty, and Balance.
Playability would be for the general ease of getting around the map, its lay out, and all that.
Beauty would be about how the map looks, if the textures are lined up well, and the details.
Balance would rate how balanced the map is in regards to each class.
An overall score could still be there, but I think having these sub-categories would really be a nice feature to the site and make it stand out over more popular sites.

Thats a good idea, although im a bit against of 'ripping a map apart', because you dont give a song points for 'vocals, guitar, drums' etc :)

But its diffrent,... it could work lets give it a try.

Btw, we are not with many guys yet. I dont know how i came on this site but we are not with enough. Ill put the link of the site in my signatures etc. Put links on valve wiki...

Well Actually, I use to work on a music site (I'm a composer/musican/pseudo-rock star for a living), and we had a monthly music competition where we would grade the pieces by 11 categories and it worked wonderfully. So depending on who you are, you can very much give songs points that way heh.
Think of it this way, how do gaming magizines rate games? They don't just give the game one overall score (not usually anyway), they have a list of things the grade. Why should grading maps (models and textures too) be any different?
