Hey everyone. Just found this site off the TF2 blog. I've always wanted to make my own maps. If anyone has any good places to start feel free to post it here.

Toying with the program itself is (in my personal opinion) the best way to start learning how to map. If you need help getting started or don't understand how something works I would recommend visiting the tutorials section that Engineer posted and/or watching this guys videos.
They are geared more towards Counter-Strike:Source but he has taught me basically everything I know about Hammer.

This tutorial was how I learned mapping. It doesn't teach you all the TF2 specific stuff, but it helps you get the basics down
