Accounts are still locked for Mac though, and you will have to wait until Gabe himself pushes the button.

They're locked? I'm running my account right now. Even downloading Portal.

However, there is no support for Source SDK or Dedicated Tools right now... which makes me very disappointed. That better come very VERY soon...

Sorry, was driving off to work when you posted. It's a little late (and my internet seized up cuz of a bad wireless connection) so it didn't complete, but here's it from 5 minutes ago...

I have confirmed this, as I have done it.

You can save 98% of the download time by copying all the GCF files over.

Start the portal download, stop it. it will create all the files. Copy all your portal gcf files (and the Source 2007 base ones if you want...) and replace the ones in Documents/Steam Content
Go back into steam, vertify the local files if needed, and steam will download the missing mac binaries/mac files and it should save you about 5GB of bandwidth.

Wish I had known this before. :p Thanks anyways.

I don't think it's worth it. You have to press a big red button to get it
