Do displacements count towards your max brush sides #

I just hit the max brush sides # error on my map. It's a bit of a problem because I'm in pre-alpha stage and haven't even started on the blu side of the map. So thanks to my love of everything circular that means I'm already over double the max limit of brushes!

I'm going to convert as much as possible to models when I can get XSI working, but I was wondering how displacements count towards brush sides. If you make a brush and convert one face to a displacement, does that count as one brush side? Or does every little triangle on that displacement count as a brush side?

If it's the first one, I'll start converting some of my stairs into sloping tunnels instead.

Thanks!

I'm thinking it counts as displacements, no brushes. Try it on a blank map, make a bunch of brushes, reword the percentage. Then make a bunch of displacements on those brushes and see if it goes down or up

Why is there a max brush number? Whats the difference between a displacement and brush?

I think you're right, was just hoping someone knew for sure to save me testing it out.

I guess the source engine can only take so many brushes. Don't really know the answer to your second question though so I'll wait for the experts to answer that one.
