currently available in Strawberry Beta flavour!

It would seem that once again the fortress builders have gotten away with building two hostile bases right next door to each other, and neither side has cottoned on to this deceptive money (and gravel) making scheme!

Hidden away behind seemingly innocent buildings, 2 secret bases work tirelessly to uncover alternative power sources in the increasingly desperate times as gravel supplies run out.
Top of the list is a deathray powered only by sandviches. However, it seems the other faction have had similar ideas, and now the bases do little more than fight to try and get a peek at the other team's plans.

i've never been one to be make the most prudent of decisions when it comes to mapping.

i just had this layout being builtup on paper for quite a while and wanted to put it to the test.
although originally the theme i had in mind was that of doublecross.

I found the layout of the base very confusing, it feels weird. I dunno.

Why do people say this? Every time its more signs and more signs. Personally I think signs hardly help at all and that it all comes down to the map's layout and flow. You know what... /me starts on an article.

you weren't at the playtest, you won't get the joke D:

It was William something or other, he kept repeating "I keep on getting lost, you need more signs" he musta said it like 30 times.

Feedback.

- Needs more sings. :facepalm:
- Bases need to be less confusing.
- Sightline in the middle is sniper heaven.
- I do think Spawn needs 3rd exit, it is rather easy to camp it right now.
- Add railings to bridge.
- Add railings to ledges at the bridge.
- Block to useless space under the stairs.

(and just in time too. considering there was only like 2hrs to go on the contest deadline)



i didn't get it as detailed up as i would have liked. some of the outside structures are screaming for more windows, and/or shaping, and the indoor areas are pretty spartan (i think i may have missed out some structure support in a couple of the rooms too).
but hey, maybe the teams at this locale are just very tidy XD
i really wish i'd had time to properly flesh out the flag room areas with additional "detail" rooms visible.

on the up side though, i did manage to add a skybox (though i didn't have time to test it thoroughly, and i'm sure that there will be some areas where it doesn't look right), and i managed to put in the sandvich-power-generator device. i wasn't sure if i'd actually have a visual reference to this in the map at all when i started out, and was gonna rely on it just being a "behind the scenes" story/pun.
still, i think it looks pretty cool for what it is :)

I played this map last night, and have to say, it was one of the most fun maps I have played yet. A lot of things about it just feel right. However, I was playing with 20 players, so my opinions will probably change enormously once I can play 6v6.
