The textures are missing. Hammer couldn't find them. They might be somewhere, but in your game directory, they are not.

@larky: who are you?

@OP: I had the same problem. Check your folders for missing or just replace them with different ones like I did. :p

Because white textures mean that the texture is missing. That is the answer to the problem.

I never implied it was your fault, you inferred it. The textures are missing. Perhaps Valve changed the way their textures were referenced and didn't do the same for YM's.

I think it's got to do with the new feature since update 119 where you can choose to remove certain texture packs from your texture browser, the hoodoo ones are automatically removed and I can't find a way of getting them back. When compiling they're there, though, so it's not that big of a problem.

Does Valve hate Hoodoo enough to totally remove the materials?

I like it. When not played on a 32 instaspawn, then its quite a fun map!

Found it!

Tools > Options, Materials. Look at the "Material directory exclusion list."

Found this just now totally by accident; on a whim I was looking to see if they added an option to lengthen the list of recently opened maps (they didn't).

Great! Now how do we remove material packages from that exclusion list? (Yes, I tried it using the options window.)

I'm thinking there is some file buried somewhere that you can open up with notepad.

I will talk to someone at valve and see how we can alter this list to get back those textures.
