highly disappointed in the co-op campaign.

reading reviews rate it so high....

On the hardest difficulty it doesn't take a more then a few hours to completely beat.

Seriously such shit. ><

Watching videos of it, it looks more like Army of Two but instead of your partner attracting aggro it is your last known position.

Half Life is well over a Decade old, unless you played it in it's time (when it won 5 game of the year awards in a row) then you'll never fully appreciate its true quality because it's 14 years out of context. It was one of the most immersive games i've ever played and my god its length. It'll take you a whole week if not more to complete, you deffinately get your moneys worth.

Apparently 2 player Conviction is a different campaign altogether? You play as the trainee's in training, who will be after the main character in the main game. I wouldn't be surprised if it was shorter.

I'll agree to some point. I played it around 3 years ago for the first time. Was still amazing. But yeah, not quite the same wow value.

I have still not played anything quite like Half Life. And I've played it at least 10 times. I should tell my friend who was considering to get this to get Half Life instead.. :p

I played through half-life over christmas 09 holidays. It's still a good game. A lot of people complain about Xen and how poorly it was made, but it had the most profound impact on me in terms of sci-fi literature as a child. But that's getting OT :/ might have caused HL1 to hi-jack this thread topic :O

Dont get me wrong SC:C is very enjoyable! combat and gameplay is really well done...

Its just a very short campaign and short co-op campaign.

There are other modes and online as well.

Personally i never got into HL. I tried HL2 a while ago with that co-op mod and i was ZzzZzzzzz

I thought Splinter Cell was a single player series, so what's up with the typical "short campaign + multiplayer" bullshit (that too many games are based on)?

I was interested, but I guess I'm not anymore.

The co-op mod isn't that great, and the Half-Life 2 campaign is a single player experience anyway. Sven co-op was probably the most epic half-life multiplayer experience in terms of players vs AI. But as i was saying, Half-life 2 needs to be experienced alone in order to get the full and proper experiences it offers. Its only draw back as a game is that it can be either too easy/hard and often quite slow paced. The Grav gun is an end all, and the epic weapons never have enough ammo/uses. Most of the "epicness" comes through the environment or enemies which admittedly isn't everyones cup of tea.
