This stops right here. Right now. There have been far too many of these incidences in all of swaty's threads. If there is any more shittalking going on you can expect lengthy bans to follow.

Discuss whatever issues you have maturely or be prepared to spend time banned.

Nineaxis edit: You guys had already been warned to cease, it continued. Temporary bans from 1-3 days have been issued to users whose behaviour was poor.

I'm not an idiot either and can also guess that the people who say this map doesn't look good are butt hurt because of SWATY's solid rape and obviously dominant mapping skills.

This maps aesthetics aren't the only thing that swaty has had feedback provided for (or attacked as you would imply). Plenty of people have complained about the poor gameplay. Or does that not matter?

The people here are trying to help swaty, but he turns around and calls them "idiots". Then you claim the reason why people wind him up is because his maps are too awesome to behold?

You seem to have the wrong idea.

People are commenting because they do like what they see. Because they see potential. They post in order to see that potential realised. They end up trolling because they are frustrated that this adequite map cannot become super awesome if swaty doesn't take on board this feedback. People here don't want to dislike him...

There's an inescapable (for non-explosive classes) ledge along one side of the waterfall valley thing. It needs to go or have some kind of escape route added to it. If this gets played in a random server someone's gonna grief their teammates by puttting a teleporter down there and trapping most of the team.

So, we haven't done a formal test since B1, but here's my thoughts on B2...

First of all, kudos on removing the center caves. They were confusing, and made the map just far too large for practical play.

Now, for things I noticed...

Now that you've got a better space between flags, alternate routes will help immensely. As is, the center is a little bit more like the center of a 5 point push CP map than a CTF map. Which is good, if that's what you're going for. An "underground," slightly covered route is really handy for getting through the "killing field" between bases in a map this size. Leaving it open to the top in these canyons means anyone holding the ground around the edge can pick off anyone trying to sneak through, which gives a bit of an advantage to teams willing to make a push toward the enemy base.

Plus maybe make some way for scouts to have easier access to the area above flag room as well, there's not really a good way for them to get up there. The roof access means that defenders are going to have to hold the roof with their own soldiers and demos, lest the opposing team gain a tactical advantage. The side opening and the overhead windows make for a intel room that is just enclosed enough to be defensible, but not an impregnable fortress.

I apologize for acting like a moron. It was stupid.

But also hope that you'll start showing some respect for the people giving you criticism and not just the mindless praise from your fanboys (no offense). They're not doing it to insult you or your map, they're doing it to help you make it better, believe it or not.

As for the people flaming you, who I'm apparently also a part of since I got banned too, they're not doing it because they're jealous of your leet mapping skillz, or because they hate this map, they're (Me anyway) just extremely frustrated by the fact that you get tons of feedback but just disregard a lot of it completely because... God knows why.

There is one thing I'm jealous of, and it's the amount of people giving you feedback. I wouldn't care if you put it to good use, but you don't, and it goes to waste (not the map). Then other mappers like me get a minimal amount of feedback. I really have nothing against popular mappers getting a lot of feedback, but when they just throw it away pisses me off.

I guess that's all, please thank or reply to this post so that I'll know you've acknowledged this. And if you choose to reply don't you dare to post anything "funny". There's a time to be lol so randum and funny, and there's a time to be serious. Even on the internet.

From what I've played of this map, it's pretty fun and uniquely designed.

Though are you entering it in the contest? If so, then why didn't you post this in that section?

Oh.

That's a darn shame; it works well as a competitive CTF map. Even if you have no intention of winning, you should still submit it for the hell of it.

Too late now, I think. It's beta, and well into it. and that disqualifies it from being entered. Contest maps need to be started for the contest and for the contest alone.

It's a pretty fun map actually, though theres giant sightlines inside of the base. For instance, from the intel area, you can snipe through the hallways all the way to the base entrances. A good sniper can easily shut down 2/3 entrances, and the other one is easily covered as well by another player.

I don't believe you should be allowed to rocket jump on top of the intel area. The intel is already easy enough to access, that's just a little too much.

The upper entrance to the base is seldom used, probably because most players don't see you can use it from the outside. In your new pic, you've got it covered that you can access it from inside, but it needs to be made more clear that you can go up there from the outside. I'm not saying that you should make it easier to get to from outside though.

Also, it's really easy to spawncamp, although its kinda like that on 2fort. Maybe another spawn on the other side of the base (kinda like in 2fort) would be good too. You only have one spawn and two exits, and both are easy to clamp down. The other spawn in 2fort isn't easy to spawncamp, so maybe you should try to emulate that with another spawn at the other side parallel to the current spawn. I would post pictures but I can't really do that right now unfortunately.

Also, the skybox doesn't make much sense to me logically. 2 dams facing each other from the other ends seems a bit redundant. Maybe remove one of the dams and have just a river flowing off into the distance. (would allow players to also ascertain which base they're in by simply looking in the skybox as well)

-Fixed some displacements not sewed together
-Fixed some floating props
-Fixed a few overlapping textures
-Added stairs to the roof above the building.
-Removed the death pit at middle.
-Added an underground tunnel at middle.
-Added more health/ammo.
-Visually improved the 3d skybox.
-Added more cover on some parts of the map.
-Widen the corners to the intel room.
-Improved fps.

Looking very good! We'll probably test this in my first maptest of next month (the next one in april is already booked up) over on our private server. If it does well, we can probably get it into rotation at some point.

so I have added another catwalk just to make it a little bit easier to get the intel or whatever in b4. Im also thinking of putting another spawn on the other side but I dont know where yet.

Is the water in the 3D skybox? Custom? Or just the cheap Hydro water? It looks like your supports are just cutting off once they hit the water.

And the first pic, looks like you have a bit of a sightline from the road bumper in the lower right to the doorway (it is a doorway, right?) on the other side of the concrete valley, in the middle left.
