Hey guys, so here what I would like to request: I want some different sized gear models for a windmill. I looked for it everywhere but I find nothing. Thank you in advance.

Actually there's already some gear props in the game (they're there because the German version uses them for gibs); they just have to be decompiled, reskinned with matching metallic textures, and realigned so they're not at wild angles if that's possible.

steventhepocket : Yep but I need bigger and different sized models, something like three.

Anyway I really don't care about the number teeth.
For the size, 128*128 (in inches), 64*64 and 32*32 will be great, and enough. Anyway if you want to make more, you can. And if you could use different textures for each size of gear, it will be just perfect.

ricadorjvc6 : Yep that's it.

Thank you for your replies.

This would be very simple, but I still need to know what it is you need them for. Do you need them to fit together? Will they need to fit into anything else? In the interests of fitting together, maybe it would be good to make some that are, say, the square root of 1024 or 4096.

Oh yes I forgot this, they must fit together, thank you for asking. I don't know about the size, 64 and 32 seem to be great. Anyway, I want to make them turning ingame, so, indeed, they need to fit together.
Sorry about the forgotten details, I posted this as quickly as I could because I have to finish this map asap.

Ricardo hasn't managed to complete a single thing (not even a sentence) in the years he has been a regular in the chatroom, you might want to pester him or seek someone reliable.

or make them out of brushes because hammer is a legit modeling program (or atleast thats what people on this site seem to think lol!)

Yeah but I don't think making something like 20 gears in brushes would make the map optimized ^^ And I tried, they looked damn ugly :/

I've got an ok gear, but being extremely new to blender haven't got a texture working, and I'm not entirely sure how well it will animate together.

well, I really can't be bothered to work out texturing and exporting right now, but if anybody here can work out blender (Sorry mick but that tutorial's a bit confusing right now) here's the file. This is what it (and the UV map I am yet to get working) look like:

I guarantee you that that is wayyyyyyy too high poly for this.

You should also consider finding better references, the gear teeth shouldn't look anything like that.
