Those are definitely custom models. I doubt you'd find them on any standard download site though. You might consider emailing the author and inquiring about them.

Would it be out of the question to run the map through VMEX and then just copy out the trees you want to see if they will even work for you before you bother the author.

Im pretty sure that will not work. You have to have the actual model files for them in the proper directories. You will need to use pakrat to remove the models from his map and then repack them into your map. Make sure they are in the proper folders in your TF2 directory or you will run into issues.

Well, I've tried multiple options, and really what I need is the trees to be accessible in my Hammer interface (worldmodel/props). I've researched but had no luck in putting the model files in correct directories, and while Pakrat will be useful down the road, first thing I need to get them in my .vmf file simply for placement.

Any suggestions on where to start? I read the custom model guide on these forums, but it seemed that there is a step or two missing for my scenario.

Thanks, and thanks to Jake for allowing permission!

Yes, this is correct. I tried that and I got the nodraw'd bounding boxes to appear - but the model was not inside. Wish it was that simple :001_unsure:

You will need to grab the model AND the materials for it and put them in the proper folders. The materials for the model will probably go in the materials/models/ folder
