Animated skybox?

It may be possible with material proxies, but if not (I assume you would want clouds/sun to have animation) you might be able to get away with a func_movelinear or something that moves the thing you want animated around the sky

I think the right way to do this is with skybox models parented to a tracktrain in the 3dskybox.

There are cloud models and plane models...

Use env_sun to place a static sun in the sky

I'm pretty sure, the sky itself will be static no matter proxies you use. But that's just a hunch.

I'd go into details about how to do this, but just take a look at 2fort's skybox. (sdk_ctf_2fort.vmf in your maps folder).

The clouds are set up on "cards" and rotate 'around the map'.

The 2fort clouds are indeed worth looking at, as long as you remember that they don't work due to a not-yet-patched bug that breaks func_rotating in TF2.

You can easily get them working again with a physics motor, just be sure to turn off all of the settings for dynamic shadows or physics collisions.

I dont believe prop_physics will ever be fixed :O

Trini8ed: Perhaps you could be a bit more detailed on the kind of effect you want.

Wait, the skybox materials are just vtf files. While I can't imagine it running smoothly or looking good is should be possible to use animating vtf files.
