Just a few comments after the quick playtest earlier:

1. Really nice map, but difficult to tell how it would actually play with only 4 players.

2. Layout seemed solid, the main signs were there, but some of those big arrows to point you in the general direction of the other base would be very helpful. In fact a lot of arrows would help. Even if you don't know what an arrow is pointing at, if you get disorientated you know which way you came, and which way you haven't been just by looking at them.

3. Stylistically it was looking pretty slick, but I think you over used that grating texture a little. In the spawns, maybe you could use some clear glass so you can apreciate the 3d skybox? There was one part where there was an inaccessible room above you which you could see via the grating. You could also see the underneath of the props there. To be honest it felt a little unnecessary and didn't add anything visually either. I think sometimes the extra rooms behind glass thing can be overused and actually make maps a little more confusing for first timers. They see the rooms and wonder if they can or should be going there.

4. If that alert voiceover could be customized/personalized more it would help make the map feel more slick and easier to understand.

5. I liked the hybrid gameplay type and I'm looking forward to playing it on a fuller server!

Thanks for the feedback kimangroo, I'll look at the stuff you have brought up. Can you remember exactly where the room is where you can see the bottom of the props, it sounds like something that maybe isnt actually meant to be there? I cant put my finger on it from your description?

For those that may be reading this, its actually rc3 thats the current version - i seem to remember not being able to upload a map when rc3 was released but its on fpsbanana at http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/45587

Ok, i've had a bit of a think about your comments and this is what I think im going to to:

Hadnt thought about adding arrow decals on the floor, but this is a good call, I wil be adding these in. I'll probably be making a line from main spawn to the CP in each side, and maybe splitting of to the intel at the crossroads, I'll have a play and see what looks good.

I may replace some of the grating textures with glass textures, I'm going to look at that, but I hadnt thought it was particularly overused, does anyone else have any thoughts on this? Also, virtually all of the places where you can view the skybox without seeing the sides of other parts of the map are already open to viewing so isnt really much more I can open up. I also want the map to have much more of an indoor than outdoor feel with the skybox as just an outside interest.

Sorry, I quite like the rooms behind the glass so im not planning to remove these. Most of the stock maps have a lot of these, and perosnally I feel it makes the map feel a bit more open, much in the same way as a skybox is designed to.

I will certainly be looking at the alert vocal again, I did originally want to make it team specific and I agree that the non specific nature of the message does currently detract from the map a little. At the time I seem to remember it not being possible but I wil review it, I may remove it altogether if it isnt possible.

I'm also looking forward to a proper gameplay test with a full server!

Hey Warmecha, I had another quick run around the map earlier but on another computer so I don't have the screenshots of the room I mentioned. To be honest though I don't think it matters that much, it's just a stylistic thing which is always going to be different with each individual. I wouldn't change much on just one person's opinion, only if a number of people bring up the same thing you might want to consider changing it.

No worries, I think I worked out where it is anyway, reckon you meant the area above the crossroads type part :)
