Last night I made 3 sets of stairs and I selected all the steps and made them funct_detail all at the same time. I then realised I needed to move one set over a few units but when I click that stair case all three are grouped together and I can't move it without moving the other two. How can I ungroup?

there is an ignore group button at the top of hammer, the ig button, then you can select only the things you want to move with ctrl+clicking them

you can use the ignorance button to select just one set of stairs or you can select the whole lotand click the "to world" button (right hand pannel, half way down) this will make all the brushes normal brushes again, then go back and select one stair case at a time and make them func_details.

Wow thanks. I have always wondered if there was a way to do this.

no no no, whilst it's comonly known as 'group ignore', if you actually think about it its 'group ignorance' and since ignorance means 'being oblivious to something', the 'group ignorance' button means you can select stuff as if groups didn't exist - as though you were 'ignorant' to their existance.

I meant exactly what I said

You can use the "Move To World" function to separate out the func_details for individual work. You can also use that function on any brush you may have created that you later decide needs to be something else...

it dosen't have a different meaning here, the things that get lost in translation are normally words that have been bastardised by americans (should that be spelt with a z ?) :)
