I've been working on a symmetrical control point map with 5 capture points, inspired by a Mayan theme somewhat similar to cp_egypt. I've gotten some inspiration from cp_orange's gameplay, and I'm hoping to make it very fast-paced and enjoyable. That is, if I have enough determination to actually complete this map. I am having a fun time making this look like a Maya city, though.
It is not complete yet, I'd say about 70% done. Still needs a lot of lighting fixes, and many minor additions and details will be put in, as well as area updates.

it looks a little small for 5cp, if you ask me

Two things:

The map is very, very small and almost looks like a KOTH map. The middle point's height advantage also makes it impossible to see over, so one sentry gun might be able to cover it entirely. I do think your use of height is well done, but you need to add a little more separation between points.

Yes, I suppose I didn't realize how small the map actually is. I was worried that it would get too large, but the opposite seems to be the case. I'm going to modify the 2nd and 4rth points to expand the map a bit.

Also, demo > sentry in that case.
And I know how to take proper screens, I just didn't care enough to put more effort into them.

Unless your goal was to absolutely make a 5 point CP map, I would say convert it to KOTH. That mid point looks great for a KOTH map (is it low enough to rocket/stick jump up? Can it be scout accessed via jumps from the sides? These things would help it be feasibly cappable if it isn't).

If the areas that currently hold CP 2 and 4 were converted into fightable areas that were still a few steps away from the point (think Viaduct), it could make an excellent Koth map.

a couple of soldiers on the middle point and no one has a chance. and seems kinda small. otherwise, its alright.

I would just like to take a moment to express my appreciation for using flame particles for the torches, as opposed to the dust-spewing ones from Egypt.

I was gonna try to do something Maya themed at some point, but now you've gone and stolen my thunder. Seems like you might have the architecture down better than I do, or did, though, in any case.
Still, if there isn't a jungle on the horizon when this is all done and over with... That's not gonna work with me.

Skybox is a WIP- I know exactly what you mean, and I am planning to do that. There don't seem to be many good jungle/rainforest models though. :thumbdown:
